The sport of memory is growing. In recent years, standards in memory disciplines have been increasing at an incredible rate.

Athletes are continually breaking records at competitions and the number of world-class competitors is on the rise. It is a sport for everyone: for kids and juniors, adults and seniors. And so we want to bring together everyone who loves the sport of memory, at the end of 2017, at the greatest event of the year: the World Memory Championship.

Having supervised a large number of championships under its banner in several countries, the International Association of Memory (IAM) is looking forward to this year’s World Championship and hopes to bring together the whole of the memory sports community for this event. The IAM’s mission is to shape the future of memory sport, providing a democratic and transparent basis on which to take it forward. The IAM is a home for all memory athletes, arbiters and organisers.

The IAM World Memory Championship 2017 will be organised by Indonesia Memory Sports Council working together with the Asia Memory Sports Council. It will be held in Jakarta on 1-3 December 2017. We aim to make the IAM’s first world championship the most successful event to date for all memory athletes, supported by professional arbiters and organizers and held at a comfortable venue.
